Julie F.:
I had already been a skydiver for quite some time when I had my children. Initially, returning to the sport as a skydiving mom allowed me to rediscover myself , reconnect with myself, and decompress from the overwhelming role of parenthood. Later, when I started working in the sports industry, my eldest was two years old, and we faced the challenge of summers being entirely consumed by work. I found my balance by planning my days off around spending quality time and creating memories with my two boys, making every moment count. On the other hand, I find my reality as a female skydiving instructor quite appealing because I have two boys, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to show them that women can have non-traditional careers . I’m happy to show them that it’s okay to be a different kind of mother and to prove to them that we can make a living from our passion. Regarding the risks, personally, I have never felt that I should stop or limit myself because I practice my sport safely and because it makes me deeply happy , it is really ingrained in me!
Josée L.:
For me, motherhood made the logistics of skydiving much (much!) more difficult, but it didn’t change my jumping experience. I was surprised during my first jump after Samuel’s birth that when the plane door closed for takeoff, I was « just like before »: that is, still « me, » not « me-who-is-now-a-mom. » 😉 I had been in the same situation nearly 1,700 times before—being surrounded by my friends in an airplane cabin —so it just seemed normal. Skydiving is part of my (family!) identity—shout-out to Mom and Dad! My boyfriend and I are jumping with much less intensity than before (no more teams, training camps and trips to events for a while), but I appreciate each jump more and still love the fact that as soon as we leave the plane our brain is « free » – of all thoughts other than the present moment ( it’s my meditation ).

I started skydiving when my daughter was 5. The team at Voltige instilled so much confidence in me, explaining how the risks are controlled and that you choose the level of risk you take, that I felt comfortable taking up the sport, even with a young daughter. The challenge was definitely explaining this sudden craving for adrenaline to my family and friends, but for me it was the discovery of a great passion and the opportunity to flourish as a woman, finding my place within this team, this family that is Voltige.

I was already a mother when I became a skydiver; my children were 10 and 14 years old. Obviously, it’s a logistical challenge to start progressing and performing in a sport with children, but becoming a skydiver gave me a second wind, a new lease on life, and it allowed me to share a great passion with my children, who both became skydivers. Competitions have given us experiences and trips we could never have imagined, and skydiving has allowed me to push my limits, even surpass myself. I’ve developed great friendships there over the past 10 years, and I hope for many more!
Cindy C.:
As a teenager, I dreamed of becoming a skydiver. Life led me to become a mother earlier than expected, but that didn’t stop skydiving from being more than just a hobby for me: it became my profession and the environment in which I raised my children. It’s more than a sport; it’s a small community of passionate people . I think the children of « Dropzone » have a unique childhood where happiness is ever-present , because it’s not only through practicing the sport that we can experience this happiness. It shines through when you see the smiles of the skydivers and clients who come to live the experience, it’s in the beauty of the sky filled with small parachutes, it’s in our evenings filled with magnificent sunsets, it’s on those windy days when we were able to fly kites and small wooden airplanes. It’s a thousand memories, a community, and a family that we choose !
Joanie T.:
Skydiving has given me so much more self- confidence . I could even say that it was skydiving, along with other things of course, that gave me the courage to embark on the adventure of motherhood. I told myself, « If I can be a skydiver, I can do anything. » If I was able to overcome that fear and that desire to be a skydiver, I’m capable of being a mother. Since I’m pregnant, I’m already thinking about my return to the skies after my baby, because motherhood obviously comes with new responsibilities. Beyond that, though, I think it’s a wonderful value to teach my child to dare. I want to teach him that even when it’s uncomfortable, we can still do it, push ourselves and be proud of ourselves, that life is meant to be lived to the fullest, that no matter what his passion is, there is always a way to achieve his goals and see through what he wants to undertake . For me, it’s a privilege .
We hope you found this inside look at our community of moms interesting! Here are a few reasons why skydiving is the perfect Mother’s Day gift. If you’re looking for a gift that’s out of the ordinary and offers an unforgettable experience, skydiving could be the perfect surprise. Here’s why.

- Creating unforgettable memories: A skydive isn’t a material gift that can be forgotten or lost. It’s an experience that creates lasting memories . Every time she thinks back on her jump, she’ll remember the excitement, the adrenaline, and the breathtaking scenery.
- The beauty of the world seen from above: There’s something magical about seeing the world from a different perspective. While skydiving, your mother will have a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, which is not only magnificent but also incredibly calming.
