DEMANDE EN MARIAGE ET PARACHUTE: Est-ce une bonne idée?

Estimated reading time: 9 minutes

That’s it! You’ve decided to pop the question!! You can’t stand keeping it a secret any longer, but you want your marriage proposal to be as original as your relationship?

Have you both been dreaming of taking the plunge for a long time? Are you passionate about extraordinary adventures and adrenaline rushes ? Why not take advantage of a parachute jump to make your move and propose marriage ?

A tandem instructor smiles as his passenger makes a heart shape with his hands.

A GOOD IDEA IF YOU ARE BOTH ADVENTURE ENTHUSIASTS!

The Parachute Voltige team will be your perfect partner in your wedding planning! Over the years, our team has witnessed numerous marriage proposals that brought immense joy to these couples ! Whatever your plan, we’ll be there every step of the way to support you and make your day a success! Our camera and video editing team will capture this unforgettable moment , as well as your parachute jump, of course!

A man and a woman dressed in tandem parachute harnesses and red jumpsuits embrace after a marriage proposal upon landing.

As an example, take a few moments to imagine this scene…:

  • You book an appointment at Voltige for 2 tandem parachute jumps because you’ve both been dreaming about it for a long time;
  • In secret  : you confide in us your intention to propose marriage that day, after landing;
  • You inform us of your plan… A large banner to be spread on the ground which reads “  (his/her first name) will you marry me ?”; Our team will be happy to advise you on the necessary size to ensure it is visible during the parachute jump !
  • You will also receive a bouquet of flowers and a ring in its box;
  • Our team takes note of everything during the booking process and assures you that each step will proceed according to your plan;
  • When the day comes, you go to Parachute Voltige for your jump (you have one or more companions who are your accomplices);
  • You will be called to training, then to dressing, then to boarding;
  • Once the plane has taken off, your accomplices on the ground will come and give us the banner, the flowers and the engagement ring (don’t worry, we will take care of it like the apple of our eye);
  • Meanwhile, you are both experiencing one of the most intense moments of your lives ! A flight of about twenty minutes, a freefall of about 50 seconds, then a ride under the parachute canopy of about 7 minutes to admire the magnificent landscape around you;
  • We’ll make sure you land first so we can present you with the ring, and then, as you approach the ground, your partner’s tandem instructor will position themselves right next to the banner so it’s clearly visible! What a unique moment to experience !
  • Once you’ve both landed, all you have to do is approach your sweetheart, give them the flowers and place the engagement ring on their finger, then… get their answer!

Phew! Imagine this moment, filled with intensity and emotion for the couple and everyone present! Champagne!!

A skydiving passenger holds an engagement ring box in her hand, while her partner wraps his arms around her waist after landing from their skydive.

Of course, this is just one example of how the event might unfold. Your plan may differ from this one, and we’d be happy to help you with your wildest ideas! Let your imagination and originality run wild!

WEDDING DRESSES THAT FELL FROM THE SKY

Speaking of weddings, did you know that during and after World War II, it was common to see soldiers’ brides-to-be make their wedding dresses from parachute fabric ? Yes, back then, tons of fabric were requisitioned for parachute production. Silk and nylon became scarce and expensive in both the United States and Europe. So, it wasn’t unusual for abandoned parachutes to be jealously collected, or for soldiers to bring the fabric back to their future wives so they could make beautiful dresses! Hooray for upcycling!
